Vibe Coding Builders

For AI apps

Connect your AI app to Vibe Coding Builders

Vibe Coding Builders has an MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI app use the tools of another site. With this server, your AI app can read and change your own VCB page, as you.

Server address

https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp

The server uses the Streamable HTTP transport. You do not need an API key. You sign in with OAuth.

What your AI app can do

Each tool acts as the signed-in member only. A tool cannot read or change the page of another member.

Read

Read your VCB builder page and projects.

  • Get my VCB page (vcb_get_my_page)

Write

Add projects and requests, and change your story and profile, as you. Send private feedback to the VCB team.

  • Add a project to my VCB page (vcb_submit_project)
  • Ask the VCB community for help (vcb_submit_request)
  • Change my VCB story page (vcb_update_story)
  • Change my VCB builder profile (vcb_update_profile)
  • Send feedback to the VCB team (vcb_send_feedback)

A new project, request, story or profile change is live at once. Feedback goes only to the VCB team. Each write tool has a limit on the number of calls in 10 minutes and in 24 hours.

Connect your AI app

You need a VCB account. Your email address must be confirmed, and the account must be at least 24 hours old.

The fastest way is the install page. Paste its one prompt into your AI app, and the app connects VCB for you. Or follow the steps for your app below.

Claude

Add to Claude

  1. Open the Add to Claude link. Claude opens Customize, then Connectors, with the name and the server address filled in. Click Continue. Claude then shows the sign-in settings it found. Click Continue again. Keep "Sign in now" under Authentication. Under OAuth client, choose "Register automatically". Click Add.
  2. Without the link: on claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors. Click "+ Add", then "Add custom connector". Type the name Vibe Coding Builders, paste the server address and click Continue. Review the sign-in settings Claude found and click Continue. Keep "Sign in now" under Authentication. Under OAuth client, choose "Register automatically". Click Add.
  3. Click Connect next to Vibe Coding Builders. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.
  4. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner or Primary Owner adds the connector in Organization settings, then Connectors: click Add, hover over Custom and select Web, then follow the same steps. On Enterprise, people with a custom role that includes Manage access to Libraries can add it too. Each member then opens Customize, then Connectors, finds Vibe Coding Builders in the list and clicks Connect.
  5. A connector that you add on claude.ai also works in Claude Desktop, Cowork and the Claude mobile apps, on the same Claude account. For Claude Code, use the Claude Code steps.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user vcb https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp
  1. Run the command in a terminal. --scope user adds the server to all of your projects.
  2. In Claude Code, run /mcp, pick vcb and choose Authenticate. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.

Cursor

Add to Cursor

  1. Open the Add to Cursor link. Cursor asks you to install the server.
  2. Without the link: add the server to "mcpServers" in ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project): { "mcpServers": { "vcb": { "url": "https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp" } } }
  3. Open Cursor Settings, then Tools & MCP. Click Connect next to vcb. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.

VS Code

Add to VS Code

code --add-mcp '{"name":"vcb","type":"http","url":"https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp"}'
  1. Open the Add to VS Code link, or run the command in a terminal.
  2. Without either: run "MCP: Open User Configuration" from the Command Palette and add the server to "servers": { "servers": { "vcb": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp" } } }
  3. VS Code opens a browser page the first time it starts the server. If it does not, run "MCP: List Servers", pick vcb and choose Start. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.

ChatGPT

  1. On chatgpt.com, open Settings, then Plugins (older screens say Apps or Connectors). If you cannot add your own server, turn on Developer mode at the bottom of the Plugins settings.
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins. Click +, then "Add custom MCP server". Name: Vibe Coding Builders. URL: the server address. Authentication: OAuth. Tick the box that says you trust this server. Click Create.
  3. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.
  4. On Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, an admin adds the server or gives you permission to add one. Custom servers do not work in the ChatGPT mobile app: add the server on the web.

Codex

codex mcp add vcb --url https://www.vibecoding.builders/api/mcp
  1. Run the command in a terminal. It adds the server to ~/.codex/config.toml.
  2. Run codex mcp login vcb. Sign in to Vibe Coding Builders on the browser page that opens, then click Allow.

Other AI apps

Add the server address as an MCP server. The app must support OAuth sign-in for MCP servers.

How sign-in works

Your AI app never gets your password. When you connect, the app opens a VCB page in your browser. You sign in to VCB as usual and click Allow. VCB then gives the app an access token that works only on this MCP server.

Disconnect an app

Open Connected AI apps to see each app that you connected. Click Disconnect to stop an app at once. All of its tokens stop working.

Your data

For each connected app, VCB keeps the name that the app gives itself, the access that you allowed, and the dates when you connected it and last used it. VCB keeps only a one-way hash of each access token. The Privacy Policy gives the full list.
